The Fall Haps

Lots of leaves to rake, unless you want to pose for pictures for Mom.

Cheesy thankfulness crafts that make Mom tear up.

Mom finally remembers to put the dog's Halloween costume on.

Finding new indoor activities to occupy little hands.

"A good friend is a connection to life—a tie to the past, a road to the future, the key to sanity in a totally insane world.” ― Lois Wyse

This is my best friend. The best there is. (IMHO)

“Do what you can, with what you have, where you are.” ― Theodore Roosevelt

And that is what this blog is all about. Once and a while I get all hung up on baby books that have more dust on them than memories in them. And then I remember the blog. And that I am doing what I can.
"so there is no feeling in a human heart which exists alone, which is not in some form or degree, in every heart." George MacDonald

It is my hope some of the thoughts I share connect with your heart from time to time.

But if all else fails, my kids will have some semblance of a baby book. Win, win.

A Smashing Success

Pumpkin carving was a huge hit for all the boys this year. They even posed with their creations without a fuss. Now that's my idea of a Happy Halloween.

Hoarder no more

I am astounded. As gross as A & E's Hoarders can be, I really do have some of these people's weaknesses. The main dumping ground for me is Matt & I's bedroom. Sad, because it had been a year since it was free of all the clutter. Alarmed to say the least, I've set some goals for myself, re-prioritized, & set about getting it done. Yesterday was a proud day, to see stacks & piles sorted out. Making room for rest & romance, that is truly the bedroom's job.

"It is a story about us, people, being persuaded to spend money we don't don't have. On things we don't need. To create impressions that won't last, on people we don't care about." Tim Jackson

Love that! Found through this guy who issued a 100 things challenge. Very inspiring for those of us fighting the good fight against stuff.

Also, a few weeks back the boys were having a grand old time with their Auntie when the dining table came crashing down in two bits. We have been using 2 round tables we had in the basement for storage ever since. I think we may stick with it for awhile. It feels so good to make do with what you have. For sure the checking account appreciates it.

Man Time

The Cardinals did not come through for my boys in Seattle on Sunday. But the loss or even the torrential downpour, could not damper the mood. Matt & Parker had a time they will remember for a lifetime.
