SlipnSlime 2016

My guys had a blast getting real messy with their youth group last week, it was time for the Annual SlipnSlime at Pursuit. This event has been a huge highlight for our family the past few years. The church has a sloped section of their property that they go all out with transforming into four slides. This year there was a slide filled with Orbeez, a slide with chocolate syrup, a slide with green slime, and a bubble slide for younger kids. The first 8 pictures were taken by volunteer church photographers, they got some great shots.

If you are wondering where my firstborn is, he was playing Frisbee in the parking lot with some other mess-adverse students :)
Pursuit has creating such a wonderful community for my sons. It is a special kind of joy to watch other people love on your kids.

good thing

The darkroom/creepfest did get a nice coat of primer. Good thing it is not so creepy anymore :/
The plan is about half done, there will be some moulding, shelving, some actual color on the walls, and a window! So the look we are going for is more cool basement hideout than torture chamber. Sadly, I don't think Aden has any plans to stop lurking in his Halloween mask.

white trash bash

Last weekend we had a little moving party with our neighbors. We thought we'd go back to our Idaho roots for a Backwoods BBQ. Burt & Tammy Dawn had no idea the night they were in for...

SO much fun and a lot of terrible food. Our family has loved this neighborhood and we're taking with us some amazing friends. They even came out to help us move yesterday!

Happy Halloween!

From some crazed footballs fans, Rosie the Riveter, an assassin, the Ranger's Apprentice, & Leonardo.

weird & awesome

We were picking blackberries in the alley behind our block last month. One of the free activities we have taken advantage of in our new season. The boys were busy at once brainstorming what act they would be if they were in a circus. I smiled & took in one of the rare moments when they are all laughing & being silly together.

They are so weird. I love it, because I am weird. I come by it by my mother. She was always dorking out with my sister & I when we were growing up. That freedom she gave me to be weird is such a gift to me.

So Collin must come by it genetically. Matt & I read an article around a year ago saying that Steve Carell was the 4th of four boys. We looked at each other & knew, yep, that'll be Collin.
He moves quickly in his random acts of awesomeness so his "Freaky Rabbit Ninja" hat started to slide off his head. "Freaky Rabbit Ninja," can't be havin' none o' that.
Kaleb constructed Collin a turtle shell from a cast out box. Leonardo from the Ninja Turtle is part of this kid's DNA, I think this shell may go to college with him.

"Hey Collin, what's that in your hand?"
(cue Collin lowering sharp stick in plastic sheath)
"Nufing Mama."
If I get shanked, at least you all will know what happened.

score

Becca had this awesome, Grease inspired,
bowling party idea to send Matt & I off to Seattle.
It was quite the success.
There were about 20 of our teacher friends there to have one last blast.
This lady has been the sweetest surprise of 2011. Marcela, you are my soul sista!
Heidi, sassy Marcela, Fawn,  Amy,
& Daddy in the back...yep, Daddy.

Someone enjoyed herself a little too much.
Thanks Becca, we had mucho ridiculous fun times.
This will be a yearly tradition, for sure!
